i was thinking of giving them to them for treats in the winter(i read this on another thread)..but..before i feed it to them..i just want to be very sure that it wont harm them in any way. Does anyone know if these are safe to give them? I bought them peanut butter ones and berry ones. Thanks, Wendy:)

I can't imagine why it would hurt them. I make my own suet feed for the winter. It's a great way to use up old cereal or oats (or whatever you have on hand).

hi..thanks for replying...i am just curious because of the suet in it....what IS that suff exactly?...

We make ours with bird seed, cereal, oats, etc. It is held together with lard and peanut butter.

thats very interesting....lard? like crisco in a can?...thanks:)

could you give a recipe for it using the lard?I would think it would help with the cold winter weather too alittle extra fat.I know with the dogs we always gave them extra fat to help with the cold weather over their food, bacon grease chicken grease etc.
