Knowing that my local Co-op would have chicks today, I naturally needed to go and see if they had any vegetable plants for our garden.

Needless to say I came home with 2 pullets, which is pretty good for me. A black sex-link and a golden comet. They were debeaked (sad day!) but I just couldn't go home without one. I hope now they'll be okay with the others, who are still fully equipped with their beaks. (Oops...)

And it was such a nice day I decided to let the other babies out for their first free-range adventure.

Checking out the crap we tore out of the coop.

One of the older Saipan hens squabbling to me about laying her egg. NOT in the nest boxes, may I add.

SUCKER!

those little chickies look so cute and helpless in those big silver water tanks, but its all part of the chicken's ploy. So they can eat you out of house and home, steal your heart, and make you their human slaves.....

At least you dove in head first...

Haha, too true. My other ones are just 3 months old and they're already looking like miniature adults!

My silkie has a hay day with them, though. They're just her size.
