I have starter feed and no grit.
They have been eating and drinking non-stop for two hours while flopping out. This is OK right? Please delete this thread if it is. Sorry, I feel bad for not doing enough research. They are just voracious eaters?
Edit They are day olds. Brooder. 80f (best I can do). with a make shift hen heating pad curved cave.100f.

Chicks only need grit if they are eating anything other than commercial feed.

How old are your chicks? What do you mean they are flopping around? Or did you mean to type flapping?

Just gently falling asleep and then getting up and running around. Just laying down face first very slowly. Reminds me of my time in the military. Basic training. Very tired. But can't sleep. At five hours, I'm going to introduce them to the electric heating pad hen. Hopefully it all works out. Want them to sleep on a schedule. But don't want them underfed.
Will post chick pics. My phone doesn't have the right USB port. I have to use bluetooth. I will. BRB. If it's safe to just let them eat like mad birds. Ok. Sorry. Not an emergency. Just worried because it's my first night with them,

Sounds like normal chick behavior.

Forgettaboutit! They will eat and sleep according to their needs, not yours. Provide food and water available 24/7 and keep them warm enough that they are not constantly cheeping loudly in distress or huddled together to keep warm, and they'll be fine. Ideally they should have bright light or daylight about 12 to 14 hours a day, or the same as your daily schedule. At night, a red lizard heat lamp or "mama heating pad" that they can huddle under to keep warm will suit their needs and it should be dark so they can sleep. And everyone, including you, will "live happily ever after." (The red light will not keep them awake.) Good luck, have fun and enjoy your baby flock!

They chose to stop eating. Finally. They tried to sleep as a group. Sorry, it's my first day. But after all of them drank water and ate food. I'm feeling so much better.
edit:and they look so much better

Edit:
Last night after getting here one was screaming mad (video):
