I Just Feel Like Giving Up

This, along with Joebryant's advice, is all you need.

You cannot fix someone else's problem. Learn the difference. Own your own problems; never own anyone else's.

Man, I wish I had said that! Can I use that on my blog?

Are you talking to me? Sure!

I didn't come up with the idea, but it's been way too many years to tell you where I got it.... One of those things that I stumbled over, thought, oh wow, of course, and retained....

BTW, your reply wasn't up when I clicked to type mine. Right on. I tend to look to the East for my philosophy. I'm not a big movie person at all, but did like that one.

Years ago I sold a couple milk goats to a man. I charged him meat price. He asked me why I was selling them. I told him point blank it was because they were no darn good. I told him exactly why I thought they weren't any good, too. Not enough milk, bad conformation, and a rotten hysterical temperament to boot. He bought them anyway. Then he spent the next several years telling everyone who would listen about those culls I sold him. I never did understand what he thought he was getting. It is not as if I didn't tell him. Anyway, I ignored him. I lived through it. I neither know nor care if he cost me any sales. The point is there are always negative people around. For your own mental health you have got to keep them out of your life and refuse to let them ruin your day. Cut short phone calls and hit the delete button on the computer. Some people just like to complain. You can't change them and you cannot make them happy. All you can do is to make sure they don't complain to you.

I agree with all the above.

I don't know who Ron White is, but I like this a lot, anyway.

Maybe I don't want to know.

I think Ron White is the guy that's always drinking scotch and smoking a cigar on the Blue Collar Tour with Larry the Cable Guy and Jeff Foxworthy.

Well, I know who Jeff Foxworthy is, anyway, and he's OK with me....

And probably anyone who is always drinking Scotch and smoking cigars would be OK with me....

Blue Collar Tour? If that's a TV program, I've never seen it on my TV Guide schedule. Maybe I live the wrong place for it to be aired.... Sounds like they may be using my neighbors for subjects....

**watching for TV cameras in the neighborhood**
