Perhaps its the weather....

Its been rainy and muggy for DAYS now. Last night we had so much rain and wind that one of our large oak trees snapped in half right in the middle. Thankfully it didn't fall on my coops... it fell about 10 from them!

We cut the last tree down out of our back yard because of this sort of thing. BUT due to the rain, it's STILL out there on the ground and mowing around it has become a nightmare because DUE TO THE RAIN the grass is about a mile high

I need to figure out what kind of tree to replace it with.

Maybe.

If it ever stops raining.

How much space do you have?

You want a shade tree, evergreen, or ornamental?

What zone are you in?

Yay for trees!

on the up side...you all got your mud for free and didn't go pay lots of bucks for a spa treatment! neener neener.

I've got a perpetual puddle...made by my basement pumping out water. yay. that's fun. ok, maybe only for the ducks.

Mostly I just want something that makes shade and won't grow to the size of a large apartment complex

For the record, this is what's left of the one that died: It was huge!

Wish someone would send a little of that rain our way. We have been EXTREMELY dry this season... and March is usually one of our wettest months.
