I too live close to cackle hatchery. About 10 miles out or so. I have now idea what thier shipping experiece is but in person they are great. I have been there this year about 7 or 8 times and everytime they give me extra so if one of them actually does die then I will have one to replace it. I wouldn't go anywhere else no matter what. My only regret? I want to hatch my own birds from now on. Almost forgot never lost one of theirs yet. There were quite a few cornishes in there when I was there yesterday.
Someone mentioned hearing bad things from cackle hatchery. Would you mind telling ma what they were. I do not want to be nasty but I want information on the best hatchery. One time we ordered 100 sexlink pullets from them, and they included 3 cocks. that is not bad except that they were sex linked and i could spot them the first day, so i know that they could. Anyone else have a bad experience with cackle?
Did you ever receive your chicks?
Today was the date given to me as the latest date I should expect to get my chicks. Havn't gotten a call from the post office yet. Curious to know if yours came on time.
I ordered them last Wed. and they called within two hours to tell me to expect them on Friday........the PO called at 8 AM Friday and we picked them up.......it was great. Two died but that never happened before with Cackle. It was so darn hot I think it probably had something to do with that or shipping. Let me know if you get them.
