I just heard about guineas for the first time 3 weeks ago...

I have four acres and neighbors 50 yards from neighbors homes. I have asked if the noise is bad and they told me they didnt know. I have wild geese that are way louder.

I am up the way from you in Surry county. 16 acres of peace and quiet. Until I got 8 guineas and they are LOUD!!!!! loud-LOUD loud-LOUD loud-LOUD loud-LOUD
They also fly all over, they go to my neighbors, about ten acres away- they are awful. They will stand in front of the bumper of your neighbor's car and SHOUT at their own reflections. They will get into a yelling circle and just go on and on and on and on... One will get separated by a tuft of grass and they will all stand around screaming about it.
They are great guard animals. They will warn you whenever a stranger or predator comes around. They will also tell you when your neighbor comes home, when a leaf blows by, when a cloud passes over the sun, when someone leaves a rake in the yard, when your neighbors leave for work, when a jogger goes by, when the jogger comes by again... You get the idea.

Predators took all but three and they just hatched (and then promptly murdered) about ten keets. charming.

Chickens eat ticks too. (Arent the ticks awful here this year?!?!) and then you can bribe your neighbors with delicious eggs.
