I just joined BYC

Hi all, I just now joined BYC. Today I ordered 6 chicks to be delivered early May. I ordered 3 Buff Sex Linked, 2 Easter Eggers and 1 Barred Rock, all female. I grew up with chickens, rabbits and horses, but my last pet chicken was about 45 years ago. I discovered BYC through a Google search. I also garden, do woodworking, write novels and am a member of the Society of American Magicians.
I am a retired software engineer. I live with my wife in the city of Rochester, NY. We have 4 grown children who live all over the country.

Welcome to BYC! You seem to have quite the array of interesting hobbies, and chickenkeeping is sure to be a great addition to them! But beware--once you get just a few, their numbers seem to increase.

I also started out with 6, many years ago. Now, I'm not sure of the exact number, but it's probably over 40! They're worth it though, they're wonderful creatures. Again, welcome to BYC! It's a wonderful resource for any questions you may have, or even if you just want to share pictures/stories.
