i had a special chicken too. i had a chicken that always came when i called,was one of the nicest,and followed me around, she also could not see because she was a silver laced polish and had a big crest. but unlike my other polish that could not see also,she just layed down in the open. suddenly turned up missing.the next day i found her feathers, i buried the feathers and kept one of the tail feathers. i still miss her.

I know how you feel. I lost my fav. hen to a weasel attack, and I still miss her. Makes me feel more worried about my new hen, Cinnamon, who is the sweetest thing.

I'm so sorry that she didn't make it. She was a brave and strong chicken, but now you can rest assured that she is at peace and happy.

:aww I hope to see Apricot, the hen I lost, again some day. And I hope you see your little LOOKOUT someday, too.

I'm so sorry for your loss You did so much. Sometimes nature takes it's course. You made her life better, and I'm sure she knew it.

I'm so sorry for your loss. It seems you did all you could & more for this hen. Certainly you helped extend her life, and made all her days pleasurable. I don't think there was anything else you could have done for her benefit. Don't dwell in any guilt, just reflect on all the pleasant memories you have of your dear pet.
