Just got back from taking Jax for his walk. Up until now he's only seen cows behind a fence. Now that the meadows have been baled for hay, the cows are loose once again.
I just walked Jax like the cows weren't even there. Once or twice he showed an interest in them. I told him to "leave em" and he did.
Stopped to pick up some pretty stones and a cow approached Jax to sniff him. I just made sure I had a good hold on the leash and watched the interaction. Cow sniffed, Jax let her. Then Jax tried to sniff her back (at her hind legs) and she kicked him!
Luckily it was just a glancing blow to the side of his face and Jax was unhurt.
It was so stupid of me to allow him to do that when I know how cows are about their hind legs, horses too.
Had I allowed something to happen to this pup, I could have never forgiven myself.
STUPID! STUPID! STUPID! That's me!
