I just ordered 15 turkeys. What should I know

I’m sure you may have read all that you need to know by now, but there are a couple things that I had heard, but payed little attention to thinking it wasn’t a major factor. I’ve now had plenty of successful generations grown without any mortality. However, one of the more shocking ways I’ve had one die was by feeding them cold water. I had geese that were of the same age in the same brooder at the time and I had to learn the hard way that they can be super sensitive at even 2 months old to this. Note that it was summer time in the South. I also do not give them tap water for the first couple of weeks for the chlorine could be too much for them. One other way I’ve had one die was that it had moved in front of one of my fans(12 ft away from it) and fell asleep that way. Woke up to find that it was dead. It had plenty of room inside the coop to move to a breeze less portion, but I guess it didn’t know any better. I had read that it was possible before, but like mentioned before I had paid little attention to it.

Thank you for this. I had read about the water but thought that living in southern Louisiana that it wasn’t really applicable but I will make sure to pay attention to the water and ventilation. Again thank you for this post :clap
