I just ordered my first chicks!

YAY! Congrats! I too just ordered 8 chicks from MPC! 3 Australorps, 3 EE's and 2 Delawares.

Hopefully we all get our chicks on time!! *fingers crossed*

My Pet Chicken doesn't send packing peanuts. They ship the chicks in a box lined with straw, and put a heating pack under the straw, which allows them to ship small orders of chicks without the need for packing peanuts. The shipping is more expensive than most places, but it lets you get small orders with no extra chicks.

I also split the order with another BYC member that lives about 1/2 a hour drive from me. She is getting 10- I'm getting 7, so they should be just fine. I just hope we can figure out which are which when they get here.. she ordered different breeds than I did.

I lo my golden Laced Wyandottes! They are so sweet and they are 14 weeks old and finally their new feathers are looking just like the picture in MPC!

WOW! I'm so happy for you. Our order of chicks from MPC will be in tommorow or the day after. I got 4 BO and an Australorpe. We started with seven also, but now we wish we had more and more.
