I just really need to vent this......advice?

I'm glad to hear about the happy ending! But seriously, how much of an idiot was that lady?

Yea, she chose to dump the dog off and get nothing, while we were ready to pay her for her.

At least in her new home, she is well cared for. The lady that took her home called me last night and we talked for ages. She was so upset about what had happened to me, and started crying because she thought I'd want to take the dog from her and her children had bonded with her. I told her she could keep her and give her a good, safe, loving home which is what we wanted all along, and she said she'll call me every once in a while and tell me how she's doing. I'm happy with that. We'll miss her, but I'm happy knowing she has a big house and fenced yard to run in, little kids to play with, and cats to chase! Plus, this lady has worked with the humane society for 5 years and has adopted all of her pets from there, so I feel comfortable that she must provide a good home. The dog in question was none the worse for wear, other than being a bit shy and skittish at being bounced around a bit, but is now settling nicely into her new home.

I am soo glade you had a happy ending. It's completely true that you can tell the most about people by how they treat the animals they are around.
Last fall I found a very underweight beagle near our home. I took it in and put some weight in it. I put it in the local papers, put flyers up ect. butbut no one every claimed it. I ended up talking my husband into keeping it, cause I could not bring myself to put it in the paper for free and see the same thing happen to it again. Saddly over the winter he got a twisted stomick chasing squrials and passed. I felt so sad but my hubby just kept reminding me atleast he had not starved to death out in the woods some where.
