Awwww, I am truly sorry to hear about your loss, I hope things get better for you, I just loss 2-incubators for I am shocked at unknown reasons of Blue fawn, pastel, white, Black east Indie, I cried for 2-days, and still don't have a clue to what happened.

Oh Bleenie, I'm so sorry sweetie. We lost 6 the exact same way. My husband literally sat on the ground and cried. We had no idea they had hatched either.

My heart goes out to you my friend. And I'm so sorry about Kahlua. I had no idea. I always loved her as well. HUGSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS

I have a little bit of amazing news....

after I found the babies today I also checked her nest box to make sure there wasn't any left behind, I also collected 4 eggs she left in the nest.. just in case. I put them in the incubator right away and just candled them. 3 are STILL ALIVE!!

The 4th was bad for a little while i think but the other 3 embryos are swimming around... happy to be warm i am sure! they've still got a ways to go before hatching but I am SO happy.. i feel like i saved 3 of them..

i'm new to ducks so it never would have occurred to me that a mom would take her ducklings to a pond right away. Also sorry to hear about the cat attack.

Wonderful news though that three are still alive! Sending good vibes for a healthy hatch.

With all the cold here a lot of Washington State people are losing birds. I know that it doesn't make things easier, but I sure do feel for you tonight.
