I just watched someone kiss one of my birds, repeatedly.

So? My wife kisses everything more than several times; whether it be me, her dog, the squirrel, or one of the birds. Many of our pets end with my wife's slobber on them; ya get used to it. It does not mean a person is "lacking" in any way. The world would be a better place if people took the time to showed they cared.
Hear, hear!!!!

I love all my chickens and dogs. But absolutely no kissing. Did I happen to mention I'm germ phobic. Yep, I am the lady you see in the grocery store giving the cart the wipe down. My kids are rolling their eyes as they explain..mom just the handle. The other favorite...Dad, mom has the Lysol again. Cleaning the coop, well I have a mask and usually gloves and did I mention disposable coveralls. Yep, I know, but they love me anyway. I would have to Lysol my lips.

Boy, I never even think twice before kissing my birds! I kiss em on the head, hackles, wattles, comb, earlobes, top of the beak... No different than a dog or cat to me! Even if they've been outside. Sometimes I forget it's something many people find gross... Lol...

Well, I don't think it is gross. Just not for me. Thank goodness not everybody is germ phobic. My husband rolls his eyes and says you probably wouldn't catch everything that comes along if you would be a little less germ phobic and he is probably right. I think it is sweet that a lot of people kiss their pets. I don't mind petting and yes I get carried away and baby talk them, just no kissing. Lol...I think everyone tells me too much about what you catch from things just too see my looks of horror. Did I mention a lot of them are in the Medical field.
