Songster
But I haven’t found any eggs from this pullet yet. Is she laying? Or just practicing her beautiful song? I have one leghorn who just started laying a week ago. One time when I caught my NH Red singing, my leghorn was sitting right next to her (all the others foraging). I think she was there for support and encouragement. I also caught the NH Red in the nesting boxes singing by herself. But she eventually left with no egg.

today when I caught her in the nest singing I was actually changing out the coop. She keep pecking at the fake brown egg. At first I thought she was trying to roll it under her and I got excited I may have a broody.... but the more I watched her I think the more curious she was.
lucky hubby was home to hear her singing then went out to check. I’ve seen her somewhat freak out on the boxes before so I think she somehow kicked the egg to the floor outside the box. I told hubby today we need to get them more secured so that doesn’t happen again! Plus it freaks them out a little so will be best all around. I guess she came out of the coop screaming - hubby thinks she was upset she broke the egg haha.
