Im so sorry, u were trying to help her, it just wasn't meant to be.... I had a Speckled Sussex who was like that, every time u picked her up stuff would come out of her mouth, so we had to put her down (she had some other problems too though) =''(

Ohhhh no, how absolutely sad.

I'm very sorry. She just must have had a lot going on inside of her, poor girl. Your hens are a good ripe old age - it's obvious you take care of them, and have of her.

I'm just heartbroken. Please accept my condolences. You didn't "kill" her. Whatever she had did - you were trying to help her.

Thank you everyone for your kind words. They really do comfort me.
What upsets me the most is that her last moments with me were of me pouring stuff down into her and it was horrible for her. If she had just died quietly in her crate, it would have been easier to take. It bothers me so much that I wasn't comforting her when she left.........I was just making her feel awful. I know I was trying to help her.......but I'm not sure she knew that.

Hopefully she has forgiven me.
