Went to bed happy that at least one of our remaining 4 eggs was just chuck full of chickie!!! Humidity was 50% and temp was (and has been) holding steady at 100F.

I know people on here don't like Little Giant Incubators (still air) so please I've read the "down w/Little Giants threads....but it is my first incubator and first hatch. We were supposed to go into lockdown tonite!

I woke up to 70% hum and 60F!!! I'm freaking out!!! I turned the temp knob up thinking to see if it was still working. The red light comes on but the element doesn't get hot. (We had to return the first incubator because of the same problem. This one has been holding steady temps for a few weeks since I ran a test dry run first with it)

So NOW I have my heat lamp over the incubator and the temp is back up to 90F...is this ok? Did I lose our precious chickie? Will the heat lamp do the same thing for these last few days or am I hopelessley lost?!

HELP!?!?

Thankx all....

X2... I agree, remember the hatching temp is not as critical as the incubation temp.... How much room do you have in your incubator? If you have a good bit of room, since you stated you had 4 eggs in it, I would fill it up with baby food jars with lids filled with water.. Make sure the water you put in them is around 100 degrees and this will help keep some heat. The eggs themselfs are producing some heat now, but they need to be in a warm area. You are doing fine, but as soon as this hatch is complete, take that LG back and explain to them what happened and get your money back.

Thankx guys for the advice. I've got them warmed back up and it seems stable. I think I saw movement in my one chickie egg so I'm hopeful. I called the manufacturer and told them that I was NOT happy.

They are shipping me a new incubator which is nice but I'm still

about this hatching.

I'm hopeful.... I will update as soon as we find out anything here...
