You wouldn't have gotten a crele or tolbunt from a hatchery, if that is where you got them from. It may be a red, if so it isn't going to turn out real red in color. It is possible it is buff laced but doesn't look like any of the buff laced I have hatched. Is the down reddish or yellowish? Hard to tell from the light in the pictures.
What clues people to Ideal giving that chick is that they are the only hatchery messing around with trying to create new colors right now, with solid red being one of them. (red leghorn x polish)
Because otherwise, that color does not exist. Noone else is or has made such project, although there is the black-tailed red and white crested red, but those are made by breeders through long projects.
what Iwanna is saying here is that the genetics are not yet fully "set" in Ideal's flock. So while much of the red crested red chicks start out with the same or nearly same down color how they grow up can be wildly different. You might get a white crested black tailed red, wheaton, partridge, red crested red, white crested red...only time will tell.
