I posted this in Emergency help part too.. I just need some advice was hoping to get attention :

Here are the details I hope I am in the right Forum..
My Son Did his First Hatching in an incubator. I know his Heat was a Tad low as was his Humidity.. yet here she is..
Born about 30 hours ago .. seemed weak as usual .. resting.. but though she fluffed up she didn't perk up.. we left her in the incubator..
This Morning we noticed her feet were curled not real bad but bad enough .. So I researched all day .. splinting changing splints.. and methods.. I tried every thing on hand with any riboflavin's.. she has been able to eat .. a drop or three of diluted hard boiled egg.. a drop or two of yogurt.. a few drops of Pedialite ( electrolyte drink for babies) a couple drops of sugar water.. one entire meal worm.. after splinting it seemed like her legs were also spreading so I made sure they were closed softly and secured..
At First being weak I kept her in the incubator longer.. and much of the day on my chest.. so I could keep her up right and watch her.. now under a heat lamp in a special box close to chirping chicks but safe..
My Biggest worry is that she keeps making a clicking noise.. Chirps very little ..
Is she a Goner ?? any more Ideas ? I have Googled my little fingers off and tried every thing.. She has slipped almost everything I could think of as far as Splints go .. So Now I went to Tin Foil and individually wrapped each toe and then scotch tape .. : ( I have never dealt with curled feet before .. but the clicking doesn't seem good..
Any and all help appreciated if she passes I want to know I tried ..

I have had a chick with curled feet that corrected itself by day 2. I don't have any advice to give on that. The clicking...hmmm. I know that when they (at least my ducklings) were in the aircell but had yet to externally pip you could hear the click of them breathing. Something about immature lungs I think. I did have turkey poults that developed a clicking when breathing when they were fading out. The poulta were shipped, so I don't know if that makes that news better.

Did you assist the hatch?

An easy fix for the curled feet is to use masking tape. What you do is use two peaces of tape the first one goes sticky side up and place the foot on it and spread the toes out into the shape they should be . The second piece of tape goes sticky side down to form a boot to hold the toes in place. trim off excess tape. I have used this method and it works great. But i only do one foot at a time for about 12 hours take it off and then tape up the other foot.Do this A.S.A.P. the older they get the harder it is to fix there feet. If you tape up both feet they can't stand up. GOOD LUCK.

Maybe it is having a hard time digesting the meal worm. Is it getting chick grit? If not then you should not be feeding meal worms, it won't be able to digest them.

To take the tape off i start at the back of the foot and slowly peel it apart and use some soapy water (very little soap) to keep it from sticking back together. slow and gentel and you will get it apart and the chick will thank you. If you do not have any one help you i put my chicks under a towl with the foot that you are working on sticking out. Rember use masking tape only.
