have been crazy busy chick didnt make it. Maybe in part for the bad meal worm decission, but I think that clciking may have been a respitory issue or something. I did learn a lot if it should happen again. hopefully it wont. thanks for the help

Usually when you hear the clicking noise, it is a respiratory thing. It probably inhaled water into it's lungs. I have had this happen if my humidity was too high. And they usually don't make it. Or if they do they are weaker and sickly.

I am going through the same thing right now with one of my chicks He was 4 days late hatching. He pipped a head sized hole in his egg, but didn't progress from there. I could here this clicking sound coming from the egg. I gave him a day to get out, but still no progress, so I gave him some help.He's been out for 2 days, and one of his feet is curled, he's having trouble staying upright, and still makes this clicking sound

Maybe his lungs aren't developed or he got water in them somehow. I don't think he could've caught it as he was hatching like that. I don't think he's gonna make it. I've taped up his foot for now, and I'm hoping for the best, but it doesn't look good. I am sorry for your loss too!
