we have 5 hens only 3 are currently laying, there is a post in my town for 8 buff orp hens, Im soooooo tempted to get 4 (we only have room for 4 more) to help keep everyone warm and get more eggs (I actually had to buy some

) would you get them or tough it out till spring when our chix start laying? tia!!!

I say "the more, the merrier!". If they're nice hens, in good health and friendly, go for it (I would), and in the spring, when you have eggs galore, give some to your friends and neighbors, or sell them at the market.

I WOULD GET THEM NOW! AT LEAST YOU KNOW THEY'RE NOT ROOSTERS AND EGG PRODUCTION CAN DROP OFF SO YOU SHOULD BE IN CHECK UNTIL SPRING!

I would DEFINATELY get the BO. BUT!!!! Dont forget to quarantine for 30 days! Dont need to take any chances with your current flock. And WHEN you get them...we of course want pics! LOL

alright! I just called she says they are 18mo old and still laying great so Im taking 4! she just had too many, getting them tomorrow.
