As a disclaimer: guys(men), there is a little "women talk" in here!

I need some quick "doctor" advice before I go running to the dr's office, and they make me look like an idiot again (trust me, I went through 6 months of visits, drawing blood - which I HATE, them going between telling me I have fibromyalgia, thyroid problems, telling me it's in my head ect -when actually I had lyme. Then when I sprained my ankle, they basically laughed at me because I went in when it wasn't actually broken...On my behalf, I was worried about a small bone being broken, not something big, seeing how I roll it more than normal and it hurts like heck to put weight on it, thank you!) Anyway....

My pony and I took a fall last Tuesday (he's only 13.2hh, but that is still a good fall!) - he slipped on a pole with his front feet and went down. He landed on my lower leg, and I landed flat on my shoulder/hip. On Wednesday (when the adrenalin wore off, and the pain set in), besides my lower back/shoulders/necks hurting, I also got a cramp like feeling in my lower left abdomen - about even with my hip bone. For all you women out there who get bad menstrual cramps, you know exactly what I am talking about...That is EXACTLY how it feels (about the same place as well)....Please don't tell me it's menstrual cramps, because it has been almost a week with no "flo" (also not time for that yet)...

It hurts to cough/sneeze, and it is always there. Any kind of "pressure" makes it hurts worse, otherwise, it's more of an annoyance than a stabbing, going to kill me pain. (edited to add - I am a hardy person, so my "annoyance" might be a killing me type pain for someone who isn't good at ignoring pain!)

I HATE (enter hissy fit here) going to the doctors, so I'm avoiding it unless it really is that alarming...

Hopefully someone has some experience with this, or might have some idea why it would be hurting there?

Thanks

If I lived closer I'd come pick up and and go to the doctor with you. And it actually sound like a trip to the emergency room is more in order.
I can truly empathsize - I thought I had the market cornered on hating doctors - but sometimes you just have to go. Do you have a friend that can go with you?

Ugh...That isn't something that needs immediate attention is it? The pain has actually been getting worse today...That's the only reason I thought to ask

If it's still getting worse tomorrow, I might see about going to my dr's office...

And thanks Coopa Cabana...I do have a few people that would go with me...That might ease the stress a little bit

Could be a cyst, could be a torn ligament. Not sure what you should do but no lifting, twisting, etc for at least a week. If the pain gets worse in the next day or so go to a doctor. If not just continue to lay low and rest, no straining. Even something as simple as getting out of bed can strain it so be well aware of your body mechanics and hopefully it's a ligament that needs rest.

Good luck, and hope your pony is faring better than yourself.

For internal stuff, you are better off going to the dr. You may have some little rupture somewhere and you wouldn't want it to become an emergency at some time in the future. I'd go to the Dr. tomorrow...

Ya...I just wanted to get an idea of what it might be...So then I am totally freaked out when I go, and (hopefully) it is only something minor

Thanks guys! I think I just needed the extra moral support to call the drs office

I'm going to call my normal dr. in the morning (I can get a same day appointment)...I have way too much school work to do tonight to be injured!!!

Hiya.
Yeah, I would wait for the Dr appointment tomorrow...
Dr's in the ER, if anything, have gotten *mad* at me for coming in and *wasting* their time if I was still able to walk.

I've had both the aforementioned educated guess, and a somewhat similiar mystery ailment that may have been a torn something or other, since it was worsened by work, and sneezing ,coughing, moving.....
Wondering if you can supply a little more detail about the exact area that hurts, how large it is, and the nature of the pain? Throbbing, stabbing, constant, off and on, ect. and perhaps I can help with the guessing. Edited to say - Sorry, I know you already did describe it some... but a little more, if you can manage it please.
