I Lost A Girl :(

We've never seen a fox or had a fox report in our area. My parents have lived here most of their lives and haven't ever seen/heard of any either. I have asked everyone what it might be. We had a cougar attack something out in our back field a couple months back(i think a coon), but that's the last big predator we've had around besides a coyote.

There could be foxes around here, just maybe not in my area because of the coyote & cougar population and blowup of housing.

I am so sorry for your loss.
I too have lost (adult) ducks, over time 5 total, and only twice did I find some feathers. One where they pulled the dead duck through a fence and once where it was eaten. The other times, it just vanished. I assume that I just never saw the signs. I have everything that would eat fowl around here. From birds of prey to bobcats, coyotes, foxes (red and gray) coons and whaterver else I forgot about right now, but I never really did know who took them. Unfortunately, I have accepted that as part of the danger of my set up (wild on a very large pond)

I just found where she was killed. some type of rodent must have gotten her. there is a large spot of feathers near the creek and the animal poo'd a couple times at and near that spot, it's about the size of small dog(chihuahua) poo. It obviously ate her there. I will just have to keep them away from the creek before it starts to get dark, though they have been keeping near the house lately, maybe it scared them.

Not a coon? That would look like a small dogs. (usually with lack of taper at the end)

It could be a coon, it was pretty far from the house. we havent had them up around the house or seen them in years, i thin because of the dogs. i know they're in the area though because we had them before and we just saw a couple babies up the road a few days ago.

That would be my bet then. I have seen a female coon here at broad daylight. (trying to) Get(ting) in the layena for the ducks, who's barrel is behind my house. When I spotted her leaning into the barrel, I could also see the full teats. Babies to feed.....
