Yesterday I went out into the quail pen and I found Jumpy dead by the door. I am so sad. Jumpy wa really funny but now I cant watch jumpy fly around every where. I am 99% positive that it was Jumpy that died.
There are three reasons that I came up with for this quail's death:
1. She jumped into the nest box and hit her head too hard.
2. She laid the whopper egg that I got the night before I found her dead.
3. She got too old and hit her head. All of my Big Browns are about a year old.
The egg that I got was just smaller than a Guinea egg!!!!!
Either way i feel sad about it.
Well, I still have 12 Big Browns left. Maybe I will be able to hatch some new babies soon to replace my flock?
