he was the head roo...I do have another rooster but my guinea's eggs aren't fertile this year
does anyone know since they are monogamous will they mate with the other rooster now?

Guineas are not monogamous. While a hen may stay faithful to one particular male, the males are just like most other male animals and do have the ability and the desire to mate with more than one hen.

It may take a little before she chooses a new mate, she will choose a new mate. I have two guinea hens and because i was not happy with the mates they chose, those males got eaten (they were delicious) and both hens chose new mates. The coral blue hen chose a new mate rather quickly but the lavender hen took around a week before she paired off with a different male.

it's not the only site
I know the roosters aren't but I guess the hens are! I found some further information that leads me to believe they will eventually move on to a different roo!! they do still stand at the fence where they last "saw" him calling!! makes me sad for them. I have a bunch in the incubator so hopefully next year we'll have fertile eggs again
