I love my colored eggs!!

I'm getting more marans eggs now.

It's fun. This pic was taken back when the girls just started their laying cycle and the colors were vibrant.

It was a nice, beautiful day in the high 60's today, so I sat outside with my chickens.

Never got above 24 here today. That said I spent most of the day indoors.

I HATE winter.

NewtoChooks - We had a nice day here too! It was about 80F I had my coffee out with the girls this morning and then back out for a glass of wine with them before they go to bed. I have to drink fast, as soon as the sun starts to to down they run for the coop.

Cwhit--heheheh! I agree. I have a chicken addiction! Hopefully my neighbors arent too annoyed...I a m bribing them with eggs so that should keep them happy. I'm in Cali so weather has been nice. You're in MI so I bet its cold and snowy

Spring will come and they will lay!

Oh gosh!!! I only have 2 EE's laying these:

and I have 10 different color Ee's getting ready to lay!!! I cant wait I hope I get some deep rich colors, maybe even some dark greens....Im pacing already...lol, who laid the pink one's??? they are awesome!!!

wow pink eggs!! i love it! what chickens laid them beauties? ive got some Araucana lavenders just started to lay this weekend so ive had 2 baby blue shelled eggs! how exciting eh, I was wondering if anyone knew what colour eggs buff orpingtons lay as ive got one, are there any other breeds of chickens that lay different coloured eggs?

I do the same thing, I LOVE checking for eggs every day. And I, too, love spending the weekends at home, spending time with the girls and the babies, and waiting on eggs. When the weather is nice, its like a teeny mini vacation every weekend. I sat with them yesterday and just enjoyed the day for the first time in a long time.

Buff eggs are real light creamish brown colored.... if you type in Buff Orpington eggs in yahoo and do a search it will show you a few.
