I Love my crazy chickens!

This is my first flock, started out with 15, down to 8 hens and 1 rooster. I honestly love my rooster, the chickens sometimes escape the run and go forging in the woods, but the rooster always leads the flock back to me when I call. If I’m outside they will come right up to the house, my husband found one of our hens laid an egg right by our house.

My son and I actually got to watch one of our hens lay her egg, it was the coolest thing ever! That’s it, I just wanted to gush about my flock. I’ll attach pictures of our very first egg and the flock!

I feel the same way! Aren’t they so addicting? We just have a small flock of 4, 11 weeks old, our first babies. There’s something so special about chickens. I would LOVE a rooster. Share more pics of him!!

He’s so handsome, his little tail feathers sticking up cracks me up!

Yes, he is still a little bit of a baby at 5 months, and he is the most gentle thing with the hens. He is a Buff Rock rooster, and he’s pretty docile and quiet, for now.
