Maybe mean is the wrong word...Stubborn perhaps? Rotten birds! April and JuneBug both feel they need an engraved invitation to join in bedtime or any other reason I want to get them back in the coop in short order. Everyone else is so obliging, docile, cooperative...just good sweet girls..but those two!

Hey! Slip in anything you want in the egg basket! I'm game! Except please, no bantam or strictly ornamental breeds...DH would have a fit !!

And then you ladies would have some pretty big explaining to do on how that got in there!!

I have no bantams so I am not the guilty one in that....I also have no "just pretty" girls. All hardworking bug eating egg layers here. But I have found that with my DH if I say

"Dang it honey...they ripped me off and sent me a midget bird

" He would soften to appease my 'anger' and convince me that it was cute or something.
