Hi, this is my first time hatching chicks with my broody ayam cemani. Her name is Dove, and she's doing a great job. We're on day 4. I gave her eggs from my own flock, but I realised yesterday that my rooster Walter is related to one of my hens Bluebell, they share the same father, I'm pretty sure as I bought them as eggs, and the owner had 1 breeding pen, so more than likely they are related. One of the 4 eggs under Dove is Bluebell's. So if this egg hatches Walter, its father will also be its half uncle, and Bluebell, it's mother, is it's half aunt.
Will this be a big problem?
I won't ever make this mistake again :(
Thanks

This shouldn't be a problem. Its not something you can easily control in a flock unless you have multiple coops to keep them separate. I wouldn't worry about it.

It's perfectly fine. Unless they're so closely related that there's little to no diversity among them, then there'll be some problems.

Inbreeding is a practice breeders use to produce, & replicate better birds, or lock in particular desired traits. There's a few different forms of Inbreeding used.

I candled them last night. It was day 4, I know it was early, but I love looking at the embryos. I saw one embryo from Bluebells egg. 2 of the eggs were a bit too dark to see early development. The last egg is a white one. I believe it is not fertile. I will candle again tonight. I have 17 hens with Walter, so I think he didn't mate with all of them. But if only 1 chick hatches, I will get her 2 more as the 1 chick will be lonely when Dove abandons the chick when it is older.

Wait at least day 10 before trashing bad eggs. If it's your first time candling, the big mistake everyone did at least once is candling too early and trashing good eggs.
