I Finally(!) found a good home for the 6 little Muscovy babies i had in the brooder. it was an older woman that owns a farm a couple towns over. she said they had been raising muscovies for about 20 years and she was finally down to 2 hens, they're about 10yrs old.
She asked what colors the babies would be and i told her 3 Blues, 1 Silver, 1 Chocolate & 1 Black. She said okay and got the carrier for them and we loaded them up. we talked for a minute and i asked if either of her girls were broody and she said 1 was acting like it so i offered soem free fertile eggs for the old girl to brood(her other hen only hatched 1 Khaki baby this year). she was really excited abotu the eggs.
when i went around to the coop to collect the eggs she saw Sidney & Shakers, 2 of my Blue Pieds. She asked what they were and when i told her they were Blue Muscovies she almost didn't believe me, she had only seen/raised Blacks/Black Pieds. THEN, when i told her she had 3 babies that same color in the ones she just bought...oh boy! her eyes lit up like a kid in a candy store!! She was ecstatic, i am pretty sure i made her day and it made mine too.
