I may be in BIG trouble!!

You say there is no room for a new indoor area but if they have a guest room, consider using some flat cardboard boxes and zipties to make a little corral. I put this over a sheet of plastic and voila, temporary chicken habitat. Might ease the stress of keeping so many chicks in such a small space.

edit: added picture of my chicks in their cardboard chicken corral (final days). It was about 5' in diameter.
I upgraded my tote to a playpen when they were about 3 weeks old. What an awesome upgrade and awesome amount to clean! I was throwing sod into their brooder so they got some grass and scratchy and bugs. It was way to cold in CT mid May to bring them out. When i moved them out, i had about 3 inches of scratched sod/dirt in the playpen, in my living room! Dust covered everything and when i went and set up the shop vac to suck it all up; guess what???? I had it turned onto BLOw! That initial moment when i turned it on, in my living room, and all that dirt and dust took flight. Oh my.....i was happy doing a deep clean tho, the girls were in their new coop!

I love your coop! I assume you built it?

Yes. My guy of 30 yrs has been keeping a big secret! Hes a closet very skilled carpenter! Our first yr with the coop and I cant come up with a single complaint! Lol. This year i convinced him we needed a garden (aka winter chicken playground)! The hoop part we'll do in the fall. I (well, he) will move the run door to align with the garden......and he doesnt know it yet, but i'm already envisioning fencing the coop to the garden so in the winter i can just open the run door and the girls can access the garden without me having to do supervised free range. Yey! Happy Hens for the win, and double win for me cause the new england winters are brutal, and i wont have to sit outside with them free ranging. And there will be no snow in the garden. I'll plant greens all winter indoors and bring them to the garden for scatchy-do time. 🐓❤️
