I may be in over my head...

Where’s the Pics!!! :D

Most of my chickens and ducks get along ok, but I have had roosters and drakes fight a little. I think it will depend on your own flock dynamics. You’ll just have to see how it goes.

But... I would recommend getting another duckling about the same age, if possible. Ducks can exist with chickens, but it would be happier with one of its own kind.

What breeds are they?

My apologies, I forgot to post a pic. We're in the process of hunting down another duckling the same age, but my boyfriend wants the same kind. I said a duck is a duck.

There are some cases how I have one duck who just stays with the chickens anything can happen it really just depends

Ducks make a huge mess with their water. You can browse through these threads for ideas on how to set up the water dish to catch the mess and keep the brooder dry. If you do this from the start you will save yourself alot of cleaning and smelly cage! I didn't figure it out until about 2 weeks in and I was having to refill the water dish like 3 times a day. The ducks were completely soaking their cage daily. The simplest solution is the cooling rack on the cookie sheet if you have them. I did not have ones that fit together well, so I put the water dish inside of a plastic bowl.
