i may cancel my order from (less than?) Ideal hatchery...

Not that I have any first-hand experience with ordering chicks, but I have been reading all of these threads long enough to know that it doesn't matter who you buy from--if you have chicks shipped in seasons of adverse weather, expect some, most, or all of them to be dead when they get there, and 99 times out of a hundred, if there's a problem, it's the post office, not the hatchery.

Hatchery chicks are available at most feed stores around the country. Wouldn't that just be a lot better/easier/healthier/smarter? Or is that just me? Why can't you just walk into the feed store and PICK the 25 you want, and have them be 100% alive when you leave the store? I can see where people would order if they want more than the # available in the feed store, or if you do not live anywhere near a feed store. I am curious, though, if you do live near a feed store, and those same chicks will be available in the feed store, why order? Just a curiosity.

OOPS....I take back what I said....I am wrong. I did not read the whole thing from beginning to end...just the first maybe 15..and then gave my solution which I am now apologizing for..
