Farm stores for adults are like candy stores for kids! I need to use a lot of restraint not to add more chickens when I go in. It’s soooo tempting, especially when they are on sale!!

Here’s some chicken math...I have 20 or so...
I already had 62 hens/4 roosters and walked into the feed store to get some feed and they had chicks for a dollar...I bought all fifty of them. I just built their temporary run inside the big run and my little boy will be helping me transfer them from the little coop to the pen today.
I lost one easter egger a few weeks ago to respiratory issues and one Rhode Island Red yesterday from falling off the roost bar and rupturing an egg.

Mature hens-
30 Buff Orpingtons
10 Blue Jersey Giants
6 Rhode Island Reds (lost one)
6 Barred Rocks
10 Easter Eggers (lost one)
Mature roosters-
2 American Game
1 Jungle Fowl
1 Rhode Island Red

Chicks-
15 Barred Rocks
12 Blue Plymouth Rocks
9 Buff Brahmas (one might be light)
10 Cochins (barred, golden laced, blue)
4 mystery breeds

Three month olds-
3 Partridge Cochins
1 White Cochin
