I am beating myself up right now. I lost track of the days, and the last couple eggs from my girls that were killed last month are hatching. I left the humidity low because the incubator said I had four more days and they started hatching today. One came out with it's yolk not fully absorbed, one ended up passing (the blood started coagulating before it could come out), the other is working on hatching. It pipped but the membrane was still bloody. I pulled back the shell a little bit to wet the membrane down and soften it. I don't know if the other three eggs will make it. The one that is still in the egg that's pipped is still moving and chirping. The humidity won't go above 58% right now. It is VERY important that one makes it, it was my son's chicken. I don't know what to do. I'm pretty sure I killed the last one that wasn't hatching, so I'm scared to do it this time.

The white part fell off the first chick. The second one is still moving around and pecking.

What ways have you tried to get humidity up? At that humidity shrink wrapping is likely and you may need to assist hatch

If the first chick has a umbilical hernia or exposed material there don’t touch it or try to push it back in, just hope that it will absorb back in by itself
How long has the second been like that? If it’s been there for hours moving but not making progress it’s likely stuck and will need assistance

There's water in the incubator at the bottom. I've filled out until I couldn't fill it anymore.
I had a very similar problem with my last hatch, couldn’t get humidity up and had some chicks shrink wrapped, I did spray some water on the inside of the incubator walls that helped raise humidity temporarily
What incubator do you have?

It may have a hernia. I put it in a cup with a damp towel to keep it moist and it was able to fall off shortly after. But there is a little flesh colored bump with veins left where the umbilical cord was. It's back in the incubator and still breathing and VERY active. It just gets tired fast now. The temp is at 99.8 I don't think it's been too long, possibly an hour. It's been biting at the membrane but hasn't shifted to unzip. There was fresh red blood coming from the membrane when I pulled it back a smidge about 45 min ago. The egg is pretty much jumping around. I may have accidentally killed a previous chick by interviening too early and I'm so scared to do it again 😭

I may try that next! I have the impeckables 12 egg one. The round guy. It also doesn't hold temp well so I'll be getting rid of it for a different one.

Should I remove some more shell without messing with the membrane or would that make it worse?

How big is this flesh coloured lump? If it’s small it may just be a raw unhealed navel which should heal pretty well so long as you keep it clean from infection, the fact that the chicks active is a very good sign
