I might get quail

I bought an incubator and hatched 2 runner ducks which are fab but i want to make the most of it. How do quail compare? how much space do they need? What do they eat? How long do they need a heat lamp after hatch? Info plz thanks!

And please tell me they are not as bad as ducks mess/stink wise

well , we had quail this past summer ... ( you are getting them to eat ?) it takes between 17 days to hatch , they need at least 3-4 wks. of a heat lamp on them .... ours didnt eat alot of feed .... we had the pharoh quail... by 4wks. you can put them in a outside cage.. we have a back porch (to keep unwelcomed critters out) where our OEGB and where the baby quail will be when we get more .. the stink is the worst after you open the incubator , with all the eggs hatched and stuff...dont open the incubator until the chicks ARE FULLY DRIED OFF or they will die . hope this helps you ... keep us informed of your quail exp. !

im not going to eat them! im keeping them as pets! before i got my pet ducks i used to eat duck but now i couldnt even look at a cooked duck i think they turning me veggie ps the duck i used to eat was from the take away i didnt used to kill it myself lol

You would think they wouldn't be as messy. So far my experience is they are about the same. With quail it isn't a WET mess though
