Same problem here.. Power was out, hail chipped my windshield, my wife is a stripper so we don't get home until late and I overslept, or my all time favorite...... Sorry I am late, but I was up until 2 drinking with my friends.... WTH!!!!!

I will not hire another young person.. PERIOD!! I didn't think I was a relic, but if a good work ethic defines the title, then count me into the club.

Serious.. But that wasn't meant to be read as a complete sentence.. But I would have had to laugh at him if he did use them all in one sentence..That's just some of the different excuses one of my employees used atleast one day a week.. And atleast one other day of the week, he wouldn't even show up or call at all.. He is no longer employed here..

I see responsible young people every day. I also see my share of irresponsible young people. Sometimes the irresponsible examples stick out to us more, while the more responsible youngsters are ignored because they don't create problems for us.​

Guilty of eating breakfast at work ......... but it's acceptable at our work place, everyone does it and we're not a "public" company. It's probably the only call center left in the good 'ol US of A!

I get up at 4:30am and at work by 6:30am (includes an hour drive and I have to shower and feed/water all the critters)........ I cannot physically eat and keep food down that early. I eat my oatmeal with my office door closed while I'm going through my calendar and email for the day...... so it's not like I'm not working. As a matter of fact....... food and coffee plays a huge role in keeping everyone happy there, so it's not discouraged! So much so that we always have a potluck or luncheon going on, free popcorn on friday's... company provides all hot beverages free too.........can't beat that!


But, if I had a "Public" job... I wouldn't do that.

This was my phone conversation with the gal at the local feed mill right before last Thanksgiving:


"Hi, this is Mike M. over in Stoddard, what are your hours for this weekend?"

She replies, "I have no idea".

I ask, "Are you making feed deliveries on Friday and Saturday?"

She says, "I don't know what the schedule is for this weekend".

I say, "Well, I'm trying to figure out whether I need to have our bin filled before Thanksgiving Day and determine how much will fit in the bin if you need to come early, but I don't have enough feed to last through next Monday,

She says, "I don't know what's going on this weekend".

Finally, I just gave up and told her to just put me down for half of our usual feed delivery sometime before the holiday weekend...

Oh I meant to shorten it to just "wife is a stripper so we don't get home until late..." LOL.

At first I thought that was YOUR excuse and it was even funnier. Then I read it the way it was supposed to be.
