I have come to the conclusion that this must be the problem, I am cursed.

Bommie has been going through his issues with the ear infection and now his mysterious illness that I can't figure out and NOW(!) my sweet little boy, Willoughby, has started walking funny and sometimes just doesn't wanna walk at all! This walking problem just happened since last night, no warning signs or anything. I refill the pools daily but i did dump out the one rubber bucket thing that was a little dirty and I saw him drinking out of. His poor little feet are freezing so i am going to cover him up to get him a little warmer.

He's sitting in the living room in a long tub with medicine water and some greens. He ate his snacks just fine so his appetite is good. I am cursed with ill drakes!

They all free range everyday and i've never had any leg problems, i even give greens & brewers yeast while they're in the brooder, just in case. Their feed is "All Purpose Poultry" from Del's.. it's like Del's duck feed. I've fed it for a Long time now and never had any problems, not even with eggs(and i don't give oyster shell).

Bleenie,
I used Del's all purpose too.

I have had chickens that come up lame like that and I believe it to be Marek's. I don't know about ducks, still learning.

I think Marek's only affects chickens, turkey & quail..... anyone els ehave any ideas?

I had to leave to town for a while so I left him in the kitchen in his tub covered up and when i got back he was in the same spot and had even went potty but never moved? his legs are still sitting laid out beside him like before.

I lost a bunch of chicks one year because of something in the medicated feed so i switched to APP & have used it since with all my babies all the way to adulthood, it works Very well and i have never had a problem with it. My babies do get supplements though so they dont miss out on anything they need.

Any chance he got some molded feed? The neurological issues present with the leg paralysis.

I haven't noticed any mold or anything strange in their feed. I keep it stored in clamping 50gal barrels(metal, food grade) so they're safe from moisture.

I just finished rechecking duck diseases & illnessess online and the closest thing i saw was Botulism but their water is kept clean and the only other water they get is the creek which also should be fine(no one else is sick anyway). He only has limp legs though, the rest f his body(neck & wings included) is just fine and normal.

I gave little Willoughby a bath this morning and after I took him out and set him on a towel he decided he wasn't happy about being in the bathroom so he walked back to the bedroom to his tub, slowly, but he got there. He's still a wobbly/limp with his legs when i pick him up and stuff but I am glad he walked from the bathroom to the bedroom without issue.

I was reading about common bird problems(for all birds) and read about heavy metal poisoning with caged birds. it said in low level poisoning the bird will act just "not well", so maybe he just got ahold of a piece of something? that's the only thing i can think of. I havent seen him chewing on the wire or anything but with as much as they like to dig in the mud it wouldn't suprise me if he dug up some old rusty piece of something and swallowed it.

He's still going to be in the house for a while, until he's better, but I don't think he will mind... i am sure i am totally ruining him, lol. he'll never wanna walk on dirt again after being on carpet and towels for a week or so, lol.
