These aren't Faverolles. Are they your other chicks? I think they are buff Brahmas.

I can commiserate. I excel at hatching cockerels, often 75% of a hatch. I will say some silkies beat my record though with once hatching 7/7 cockerel chicks. They were fired.Well, also the pullet is almost fully feathered, smaller, and while she has some light grey feathers doesn't have any black. The roos don't even have all their wing feathers in yet, are about a third bigger, and are constantly chest bumping, pile driving, etc. and generally making a pain of themselves. So, I had other indications.Mine are also from a farm/feed store.![]()

Nope, they were sold to me as Salmons.
Uh-oh. Good catch @keesmom! I assumed the pics were of other chicks...those def aren't SFs. I agree that they look like buff brahmas. Here was my SF when I brought them home (with a very full crop):

They were wrong. Faverolles chicks are yellow, with muffs, white legs and 5 toes. Like this (ignore the white Faverolles chick in the center). They never feather in like the 2 you have, not to mention the chick down color is all wrong.Nope, they were sold to me as Salmons.
Yours also have pea combs. Faverolles have single combs.Bah! What a let down... No wonder why they haven't looked too much like Salmons I've seen online.![]()
Thanks for the info.

I'm not sure I would buy from that store again if they have no idea what they have. There are only five, 5-toed breeds and those are hard to mix up. I suppose the hatchery could have made a substitution, who knows.****. This is my first set of chickens so I wouldn't have know that. I even asked them more than once.
Well, my buffs are jerks. They don't like me & wont let me hold them.
Now, I need to research them to try & see if I can determine if it's a hen or roo. I'm still guessing roo on both.![]()
