We call ours "The Watson Family Faux Farm" because it is just that!

We are on 1/6 of an acre in a total McMansion subdivision (I know, I know, sorry.......either its that, or we are paying 1.5 million for a 2 acre property that has a 60 year old house on it that needs probably 200,000 worth of work on it....but I digress)

.........anyway........we have a big (for a family of 4) garden, blackberries, strawberries, apricot tree, red seedless flame grape vineyard and chickens. My friends/family think I am crazy. They can't imagine why I have started making my own yogurt (thanks MissPrissy), gardening, chickens--- the whole thing just blows their minds. So thats why we call it a Faux Farm-- it isn't really, but is as close to it as we can get on this tiny scrap of land!!! We even had our name made into a stamp for the egg cartons! www.eggcartons.com (one of the byc sponsors!)

Good luck!

Lacey,

We had quite a time trying to figure out our name for our homeschool. First, we talked about what our homeschool meant to us, and what we hoped to achieve in it. Then we tried to decide what was the most important overall factor. In the end, we all decided that family is really what we are about, and so we looked into our past, and discovered that my husband's family has a pretty cool coat of arms & crest. Since there is an eagle on the coat of arms, we decided to go with Eaglecrest Academy.

Why I am mentioning all this is because you said this was for a 4-H project, with more than one child involved. Is it possible that the kids could do some research into what they are hoping to attain from the project? Like maybe blue ribbons at the fair ( hence ~Blue Ribbon Ranch~) or maybe they want to be recognized for having the prettiest laying hens ( ~ Easter Egg Farm ~ ) or maybe it's a group of girls only ( ~ Lovely Ladies Lagoon ~ ), etc, etc.

My kids had tons of fun coming up with a name, and then making up a flag as well. I imagine yours could either paint a sign or a flag or a posterboard of some sort as well, and have quite a bit of fun. Then, when they go show the chickens at the fair, they will have a banner of some sort to hang up over where their hens are staged.
Anyway, just a thought ~ hope it helps.

I also like the idea of a Hot Wings Chicken Ranch. It seems very Texan to me (since I'm from the north and think of spicy things like chili when I hear about Texas). It's also creative!

Those are all good. They just dont fit us!! We are a combined family so there are different last names!! Those are all cute though. I did like the top hat one from earlier but we have banties also. Thanks everyone for your ideas.
