I need a friend!

Hi everyone,

My name is Walter and I live on a farm in Rhode Island.

I am a really great duck (my mum and dad said so) but I am a little bit lonely. So, my mum and dad helped me write a personal ad and I put it on CL ~ http://providence.craigslist.org/grd/2987637983.html

and we started a FB page too https://www.facebook.com/WalterNeedsAFriend

all in the hopes of finding someone to keep me company.

So far I haven't found a friend and I was thinking that maybe you could help. Do you know of anyone with a Muscovy lady who lives near me? I sure hope so because I would really like someone to share my life with. There's lots to do and see here, I'm sure that she would be happy. And most especially I would be her best friend forever.

Hi Walter!! Why don't you ask your mum and dad to help you post your letter in the Rhode Island thread. That way people close to you might see it. Also do a google search on Chicken Swaps in your area. Maybe you could go to one and pick out a new friend! I really hope you find someone soon. You sound like a real sweet ducky.

Walter, I am sure the right friend or friends are out there. Have your folks considered contacting duck rescue organizations? Majestic Waterfowl in Lebanon, Connecticut might be a place to find out about.

Thank you everyone for your kind words and suggestions. I am going to get mum busy!

Yesterday I was scoping out the garden and mum and I were chatting about where the lettuce should be planted. I suggested that lots of lettuce get planted near the fence so that I can reach through and help myself. She didn't think that was such a good idea, for some reason. But she did say that she will plant lots of veggies so that when I have my new friend, we will have plenty to share!
