I need a hug :(

Well, of course since we live out in the middle of nowhere, there was no witness, so the police won't do anything about it. The P.O. won't do anything about it, because it wasn't insured, and because they say that 'the carrier delivered them the way that was acceptable in the past', which is bull. It was not acceptable, but I couldn't get him to do it any other way. It was either that or they would sit at the post office for days after they remembered to put the note in my box. I will still try to fight it, but I doubt anything will come of it. Finally, my carrier is going to personally call me when I have a package, and leave it at the post office. That's what I wanted in the first place, but the postmaster said they didn't do that. I should be getting some eggs tomorrow, so we'll see if he remembers to call.

Id MAKE the mailman pay for them, AND shipping costs. People are so rude these days. Its so different when you have live babies in the mail you come to get them at the post office and their much more careful with them.

Shelley,
So sorry this happened to you.

Some people!!
I hope the PO doesn't give you the runaround.

I'm lucky. My Post Office folks are great. They know me as the chicken
guy.

If I was you I would have future orders shipped via UPS, Fedex, or DHL.
It may cost a few extra bucks but it's worth it. I know many egg shippers
on Ebay won't use the post office at all any more.

I had a box of eggs delivered with instructions to call posted ALL over the box. They delivered them anyway and left them sitting outside all day in the summer heat. I even called the PO ahead of time and told them the package was coming and to please call. I was told that as long as a phone number was on the box, they'd call, that was the procedure. Apparently, they don't follow their procedures very well!!

Sorry again. Hope you have better luck receiving your next package.

That is exactly what I have been thinking. I know they (UPS and FedEx) will bring them to the door. They'll even get out of their trucks! The one or two times that my mailman did bring something to the house, he just sits in his truck and blows the horn!
