I need a new favorite author

Arthur C. Clarke ?

-----

Tom Stoppard "Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead" (vs "Hamlet")

John Gardner "Grendel" (vs "Beowulf")

and there's one that's the opposite of "Frankenstein" but I forgot...

Steven King and Peter Straub wrote "The Talisman" together. It was one of my favorite books. So many good suggestions here, maybe we should start a book club or a lending library!

JA Jance - JP Beaumont series, Joanna Brady series, Ali Reynolds series
Lee Child- Jack Reacher series
John Sandford- Prey series, Virgil Flowers series, The Kidd series
Steve Berry
David Baldacci

Hmmm Bodie Theone has a good series if you like historical fiction. (The Zion Chronicles) They have some pretty cheesy parts though.
High five about John Grisham and Michael Crichton

Good grief! All these great authors and nobody mentioned John D. MacDonald's Travis McGee series, nor Robert B. Parker's Spenser series! I think someone may have mentioned John Hillerman's Joe Leaphorn/Jim Chee series. All are TERRIFIC reads. Another good one is James D. Doss' Charlie Moon series.
