Just wondering how everyone is coping with the tomato situation. I guess those of you in the south probably have your homegrown tomatoes already. I miss the tomatoes and I have only planted one measly plant-I have rotten luck at trying to grow tomatoes!

I have 23 tomato plants right now with lots of flowers and only 2 tiny greens growing at the moment. Can't wait to have tomatoes.

I don't shop at the grocery store much, did they stop selling tomatoes in stores because of the salmonella outbreak? Sorry, I know I sound ignorant but I try to stay away from the news and I only go to the grocery store once a month and haven't gone in about 3 weeks now.

We grew 116 plants and gave a lot away. Now we probably have 30 - 40.(We don't live on a farm)!

We haven't got any yet but there are still some green ones. By the way Hotwings, do you need the tomatoes for burritos??!!!

I have 5 plants, but the weather was so bad I couldn't plant when I wanted to. Still-can't get used to tennessee planting,In Fla we planted potatoes in Jan, Here they freeze, there everything had to be planted before Easter, Here it'smemoral day. This will probably be my last year to plant a garden, getting to old to take care of it, sure will miss it, love to garden and also the fresh veggies.Still no bloom on my tomatoes, when they start to bloom I go outwith a rolled up newspaper and beat the plants, helps to pollinate them since we have so few bees in our area. sounds crazy but it works.

I was in Subway yesterday where the big topic of conversation was that they actually had tomatoes. The owner was telling us they had just gotten the okay to start serving them again. Thing was he wasn't really saying that he had just gone out and gotten these. They may have been sitting there since before they were pulled out of the stores. So I did NOT ask for any on my sandwich. It will be a while before I have any of my own garden tomatoes and I can't wait!!!
