I need advise

I got two white silkies last week (rooster and hen). At first they were happy, and he crowed a TON in the morning. Now lately.... kind of just mooping around, seem tired, I seriously don't notice him crowing that much (if any). We moved them to the new coop (instead of just our back yard) and today its been the same kind of thing. They seem to be pretty tame, we can hold them. My mom came over to look at him ... said he looked healthy other than the things I mentioned...

Oh.... and they both LAY on the ground... don't even get up on the roost and she doesn't get in the nest either. Do they need more chickens with them??? I'm soooo confused!

Help?

Then...... we got 6 bantam chicks on Tues. They all seem fine. The smallest little one (I think might be our black frizzle)... seems to have poop on his behind/ vent area. I wiped him up... but how do I know if I got it good. Its hard to tell... cause he's black. I just don't want him to die. He actually seems fine otherwise.... eating/ drinking/ running around etc.... So maybe he's not really pasting up, its just landing on the feathers?

ANy help would be great!

I wish I had something to tell ya. I sent hubby out this morning on a false pasted butt! On his birthday no less

Funny you can be out there and see them poo a thousand times but when you stop to wait for a poo you won't see one! The hen that I thought had a pasted vent is also black and I stood there watching and waiting for her to poo and I saw what I thought was flexing like she was trying. Hubby said she was fine

I tried to clean him off.... and its kind of stuck on there. Although... after I got some off ( I guess) I watched him poop.....
I'm confused.

My 2 silkies didn't start out roosting either. They didn't know what one was. The Lady I bought them from didn't have a nest or roosts. They were just in a pen with dirt floor. It was kinda sad the way they were keep so I bought 2 babies from them. I took a lid from a kitty litter pan and put hay in it for them. The first night I had to put them in it after that they went in on their own. Then I put 3 roosts in at different heights for them it took them another month before one got brave enough to try it out. Now they both go to roost everynight and I finally took out the lid with hay out they wouldn't use it any more. As for the pasty butt just clean it everyday and it will clear up soon.

my BO constantly has dried poo on her rear.
its not blocking her up; i see her poo and it drops to the ground.

but no matter what i do, there is always a big chunk of dried nasty on her butt.
its stresses me out, but doesnt seem to bother her.

If you can't see any poop on his vent because of his color, touch it with your finger. If you feel something hard then that's poop. If it gets to hard really all you can do is pull it off. I had to do that a couple of times. Sometimes when you pull the poop of it will pull out some fuzz. Just put vasiline (spelled wrong) on his vent and that will help if you pulled out any fuzz and it'll help the poop not stick to his butt.

As far as the new chickens go. When I first got my year old roo he crowed ALL DAY LONG!!!! Once he figured the entire universe understood that they should stay out of his territory he stopped crowing all the time. He now mostly crows from 5 am until I let his girls out of their house. The only other time he crows is after a thunderstorm.
