Hi everyone I'm new to this. I haven't got my chicks yet I wanted to learn as much as possible. I was wondering what I all need to get when I get them? Like what is the best food? Are like other animals where I need to slowly introduce food if they are not on the same one?

I'm not a big aficionado of slowly introducing feed changes. Dogs and chickens will eat whatever they find when foraging.
Don't reinvent the wheel as a beginner. Decades of research have gone into perfect poultry nutrition. Stick with it for a while.

Feed 18% or higher protein for growing birds.

Feed 16% or higher protein for layers.
Give layer feed to birds that begin laying, which is 4% calcium.

Limit treats to under 10% of total intake until you understand protein content of the treats.

Ventilate, ventilate, ventilate.

Okay thank you for the info
