Okay, so my Rhode Island Red has been limping these past few days and I can't find out what's wrong! There seems to be no cuts, scrapes, Bumble foot, or anything else that appears to be wrong with her leg. She'll put as little weight as possible on it when walking, and has sort of been isolating herself from the other birds. We have a few golden comets another red, and one leghorn, all of which are hens. We've had them for about a year so we're kind of new to this as well. This morning when I went out there, she was just sitting on the roost while all the other hens were out in the run. Also when I let them all out, they'll chase her and she'll just hide and sit down under our trailer. Otherwise none of the birds have really picked on her or hurt her in any way. I've hand fed her and given her a bowl of water because she'll just hang out in the nest boxes or sit on the roost. Please help me! I'll do whatever I can for her.

Seperate and cage your RIR, you want to limit her movements. It sounds like she has somehow pulled or sprained a ligament or tendon, possibly jumping down from a high roost or other high place. I recommend lowering roosts and eliminating high places in your yard that chickens are able to jump down from. While she is caged, provide her feed and water. You can purchase vitamin B complex tablets at a pharmacy, crush a few into powder and sprinkle it on top of her feed to eat. The vitamin B complex may or may not help speed up recovery. Keep her caged for 5 days then release her to see if there's improvement. If not, recage her and continue with the vitamin B complex treatment for 7 days, then release her again. If there isnt any improvement, stop the vitamin B complex treatment and keep her caged til she heals or is at least able to hop around on one leg. These type injuries take time to heal, dont expect overnight miracles. Sometimes it takes a week, a month or never depending on the severity of the injury. Do not give her anything for pain. You want her to feel pain so that she isnt up and walking around in the cage possibly causing further injury.
