hello I have 3 chicks that are 5 weeks old I just a built a coop for them and I was thinking about getting a few adults to be in there with The 5 week olds is it safe for me to do that? Will the adults kill my pullets? Thank you

Welcome to BYC! I'm glad you joined us! :) I would wait till the 5 weeks old chicks are at least 2-3 months old.

Putting 5 week old chicks in with adult hens is a bad idea. Hens can and will kill young chicks that are not 'theirs'. You would need to wait until the chicks are a few months old before introducing them to adult birds. They need to be big enough to handle pecking order fights, and fast enough to get away.

NO, they are much to young to be with the mature birds. Chickens have a very strict pecking order and young and new birds are regarded with great suspicion and disdain. There are many threads regarding "integrating the new with the established older birds." A gradual process is necessary to prevent bloodshed.
