Is this kudzu? I'm in northern Illinois so it is a new invader here--- but if it is I know it would be great forage for my chickens--- it is sprouting up EVERYWHERE!

Google kudzu images

It does not look like that, and I'm glad we don't have it here.

Looks like nasty stuff

Not kudzu. 100% guaranteed. Kudzu is nothing at all like that.

It looks to me like manitoba maple aka box elder but I am too lazy to look it up to confirm for sure.

Now I just have to figure out what the heck it is--- it seems to be taking over like kudzu--- growing all over everything. I have lived here in this area for my whole life and have never noticed anything like it before. Along our roads it has started to cover everything --- fences, trees, utility poles.... It reminds my of the kudzu I saw when we drove out to North Carolina several years ago.

Boy that Poison Ivy comment sent a shock through me. Thanks zatsdeb, I'm awake now

. It's not Poison Ivy but it does look similar. I then realized I have it in my yard. So I just got back in from an expedition. My first thought was nightshade, nope. Akebia, nope. hnoysuckle, Nope. Clematis not quite but similar, not pink, purple, blue. White ding ding ding. The leaf is an exact match for my white Clematis, growth pattern looks the same also. I planted it many years ago, but I believe it was a Montana Ruebans variety.
It's not quite blooming yet, but headed out to get a pix.
